A good win but against a less strong side. Ben Pennington made his debut -offering excellent passing and enthusiasm in the midfield. He also took the executive decision to take the penalty stroke after Sam Easterbrooks short corner strike was stoped by a foo on the line. He missed the flick but gained the 'Dog' award -swings and roundabouts! Pete munn felt a twinge in warm up and stood off for the first 15 mins in which time Owain and Toby Acharya took responsibility at the centre back positions. Toby trickett had another very strong game playing the wigback role on the right. He had poise and strength on the ball, supported the midfield very well and worked tirelessly to defend and attack. Sam and seb in midfield looked more confident and kept the ball out of contact better. In the second half especially there were lots of excellent one, twos that opened up the play. Charlie irish helped greatly with this. Up front the clubs 'middleaged development' programme ie Dan and Mike bore fruit again with three right place right time goals between them. They are both really enjoying the hockey and contributing a great deal to the on and off field positivity of the team. Jude returned after a week out and scored a good centre forwards goal . His play has improved a great deal this season and he stuck at it when shots went wide in the first half -he was rewarded with a goal and man of the match.

Over all a pleasing performance. We must build on the work keeping the ball out of contact and ball speed in passing next week so that we are prepared for three tough games in the final games before Christmas.
