What a way to finish 2020!! DDJHC "A Christmas Spectacular" saw a great turnout across the teams, support from the two senior Clubs alongside Dragon's regular coaches. Thanks to all PG's players that helped us keep playing this year, especially the first half of the 20-21 season since September. Dragons will return in 2021, hopefully on Sunday the 3rd January 10-1130 once again at our Brickfields home. Have a safe Festive break and we’ll see you all in 2021!!! 🏑🏑🐉🎄🎅

Return Round up
Three sides in action this weekend, the 3XI coming out on top against ECV Hornets 2-1. With Gareth's 4XI rested due to the Plymouth Uni game being off it was left to Tom & Pete's lads to face each other in a 1215 training game on the McCormick. Lots of decent hockey today after a well attended Training session on Wednesday. Next sessions back are 645pm / 745pm for next Wednesday.

Hockey Return
All,
We’re currently looking into the guidance detail from EH and
pitch availability for sessions from 3rd Deconwards. This may
include an additional training slot if possible on Thursday 3rd
and Saturday league games on the 5th.
There maybe options to rearrange fixtures & play on the 19th Dec
& 9th Jan in addition to the scheduled League dates as planned to
catch up for lost matches. This will also depend on oppositions
& their pitch availability also.
A full update will be sent out in the usual channels in the next
few days.
Hope this message finds you well, fit & active and keen to return
to the pitch!

Physical & Mental Well-being
Having entered a second national lockdown it is as important now as it has ever been to retain focus and stay resilient for yourself and your peers.
PG’s has always aimed to provide an inclusive and supportive environment that instills positive values within its membership.
We may not be able to continue our efforts on the pitch (or in the pub) for the foreseeable, but the digital world can keep us connected, still feeling part of the group. We have some online fitness sessions alongside Plymouth University starting on Wednesday - login if you feel you can.
Here are some principles to reflect on and practice while we take a break from pitch-based activities:
1. Club cohesion – Is there something you want to contribute? What ideas do you have? What may seem like a small gesture could make a big difference to others. Speak with the Committee, Development / Coaching
team or a Captain to see where you can help.2. Individual purpose – maintaining a work ethic and embracing your team’s values will offer a clear direction for your energy. Getting some cardio in the open air is a great way to settle the mind, so don’t forget to take a break from the screen(s) and head outside.
3. Stay active - Join in on an online training session and invite a friend or partner. Share your personal sessions with your mates; it will help keep you and them engaged.
4. Connect –When you’ve got some down time, make a call or send a text. It’s always nice to hear from someone. The pubs are shut but sharing a laugh over a drink online can be good for the soul.
5. Faith – Trust in yourself and others. You should expect your mood to fluctuate, it’s completely natural, what matters is how you deal with it. Be patient with yourself; often the best thing you can do is to pause, reset and go again.
6. Happy environment – Environment is key and its effect is cyclical. Be mindful of your actions and aim to be a positive contributor. Strong interpersonal relationships with the coaching guys, friends and family will continue to provide a positive, cohesive and supportive environment, which in turn creates positive and supportive individuals.

PHE Restrictions Revised Guidance
All Players & Supporters,
Following the latest guidance from EH, PGSOB will temporarily pause all Training & Matches from Thursday until at least the start of December. Obviously disappointing, but we fully support this guidance and hope to return at the start of December and/or into 2021.
We WILL however be offering a final, Covid safe, MNF session to support PT Bruce tonight, a safe session 7-8pm before switching to online fitness sessions. Wednesday Training will also be on, slightly amended timings:
3&4 645pm-815pm
1&2 8pm-945pmSince re-starting we have implemented measures in order to keep you safe, thanks for supporting these by observing the rules we have put in place. We hope these new measures will make a big difference and allow us to return and enjoy Hockey in the near future and into 2021.
During the break, please stay connected through our social media platforms and the Committee, Captains, Coaches & Players

Club News & League Start
Pre-season is now behind us, with the league start now less than
a week away. Despite the obvious challenges we’ve had a really
positive start to 2020-21 with over 42 sessions already delivered
across the Club, participation often close to the new Covid
capacity of 30 (in a session). We also welcome several new
members this season joining in all four sides - hopefully you’ve
enjoyed the pre-season programme and will do so as we progress to
competition. We also welcome Noah & Will into the coaching team,
both with great experience within other set-ups and already
having valuable input to improve our playing standard across the
whole club.
We’ll continue to offer different ways to play such as the Vets &
Youth matches, 1s Development Sq training & new for 2020-21 a
return to the U16 Badgers matches. Hockey is in a fortunate
position compared to other activities at present, we’ll continue
to follow guidance to keep players safe, but offer action packed
sessions to unwind, relax and enjoy sport whilst we can.
Supporting each other before, during and after hockey and even
away from the pitch is as important now than ever.
To support our well-being the PT Monday nightsessions will
continue into November, 7-8pm come along and jump in if you can
£2-£3 per session - the cheapest personal training in town!
With local restrictions, already providing challenges in arranged
matches please bear with the captains & match day selections as
details are often changing. A real challenge for the guys,
please support them and advise of availability using the website
Omission function or as requested. Selection will often be
confirmed via the website this year. Ensure you reply promptly
(& keep personal details up to date!)
Full playing kit is in stock and being distributed, please also
check out the kit shop for any Training apparel purchases.
A final reminder that Subs are now due for the season ahead,
again check out the website for payment options and bank details
or speak to Steve ‘Brownie’ Brown with any queries.
Enjoy the return, stay safe during our activity and play well!
