A busy March
A busy end to the 2019-20 season, with the 21 v 40's match ending finally with a victory for the young pretenders!! A closely fought game the 21's started well and deservedly went ahead before the Vets responded with a short corner. The second half saw some more great hockey with chances for both teams before Josh's men took a first victory in the series.
Next Wednesday sees a social finale to the training nights led by Tristan & Hussey (630pm-745pm) before Cathan leads out the 2XI against Tavistock in a re-arranged league game fixture (8pm).
The final league games are on Saturday 21st March followed by the End of Season Awards night on SATURDAY 28th MARCH. Tickets from Alex Fishley.

U18’s v PMHC U18’s
Our U18's took on pitch rivals PMHC in the EH National Cup. A late start under lights, after a busy day in the Devon Cup, a much younger PGSOB team still were keen to compete against their more experienced neighbours.
PGSOB U18 0 (0) - (6) 10 PMHC U18

PGSOB U18’s v ISCA U18’s
ISCA eventually ran out winners after a tense and close 1st period with the visitors struggling to find a way past a well-organised and resolute Home side that created some chances of their own. An older side who were moving the ball well started to penetrate the hosts circle, scoring 2 before the break.
Again we started well, but a high ISCA press forced a turnover in the circle, scoring past a helpless Isaac, who was in fine form throughout. As the second half went on, PG's legs started to tire, our younger team, chasing the ball in spells, as it was moved with pace and precision. Isca found 3 late goals as they created some fine attacking plays
Overall our boys did well stepping up to the higher level and adapting to new players and the lack of game time together as a group. We now drop into Tier 2 of the EH Competition and await our opponents in the draw. Many thanks to all that stepped into the side, to Tony (Team Manager), AJ & Nick (Coaching)and to Bruce (TD) & the two umpires on the day (Sean & Colin).
